Assistance League Diablo
is an all-volunteer, 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization that puts caring and commitment into action through 15 philanthropic programs in Contra Costa County.
Proceeds from our event will be supporting three major Assistance League projects.
1. Assault Survivor Kits® - clothing and hygiene kits for victims of sexual assault .
2. Sunshine Boxes -supplements the weekend food needs of students who, identified by the school district, are in need of food assistance over the weekends. Currently, 500 boxes are delivered to Pittsburg School District each month. Every Sunshine Box contains healthy shelf-stable foods.
3. Baby Bags - infant clothing and supplies for low income mothers whose babies have been identified as high risk for developmental problems
The Orinda Woman’s Club Community Service Committee makes a number of smaller donations to support additional local organizations and projects. The Orinda Woman’s Club Community Services Committee reviews requests from local nonprofit organizations, donating funds to aid those most in need, with a focus on women, children, and the elderly. In addition, educational or vocational grants are given to former foster children, women rejoining the workforce, and one student graduating from Orinda’s Miramonte High School.
The date is approaching fast and we’re making preparations. Don’t miss out!
