Introducing Our Beneficiaries

Founded in 1985, the Child Abuse Prevention

Council, (CAPC) is a leader in preventing child

abuse and neglect in Contra Costa County, through

family and school-based programs.

Proceeds from the 2026 Festival of Trees will help expand

CAPC’s Speak Up Be Safe (SUBS) program into Rodeo Hills

Elementary School. CAPC has already provided instruction to

11,642 students in Contra Costa County schools. This

evidence-based curriculum, offered in English and Spanish,

has been proven to prevent child abuse. It addresses child

safety, bullying and online risks and emphasizes that adults

are responsible for child safety. By using a few safety rules,

children can help those adults keep them safe.

The Orinda Woman’s Club Community Service Committee makes a number of smaller donations to support additional local organizations and projects. The Orinda Woman’s Club Community Services Committee reviews requests from local nonprofit organizations, donating funds to aid those most in need, with a focus on women, children, and the elderly. In addition, educational or vocational grants are given to former foster children, women rejoining the workforce, and one student graduating from Orinda’s Miramonte High School.

It’s almost here!

The date is approaching fast and we’re making preparations. Don’t miss out!
